Ariel E. Solomon concentrates her practice in the areas of Federal Employment Law and Civil Litigation. She has significant experience asserting the rights of employees in complex litigation matters, including but not limited to, providing aggressive representation for employees in adverse action cases before the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB), discrimination cases before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, federal retirement and whistle-blower retaliation cases.
Ms. Solomon provides representation to federal employees on an international level and has represented clients based in Asia, the European Union, and the Middle East. Ms. Solomon also practices extensively in discrimination matters that involve: pregnancy discrimination, disability discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, racial discrimination, national origin discrimination, genetic discrimination, age discrimination, LGBTQ+, and religious discrimination. Ms. Solomon endeavors to provide exceptional legal services to clients seeking recourse in employment and litigation matters.
Ms. Solomon regularly appears before the Merit Systems Protection Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the U.S. Office of Special Counsel, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the State and Federal Courts in New York. She has served as principal attorney for precedent-setting cases brought against Federal Agencies, including cases brought against DoD, DVA, DOJ, NPS, EPA, IRS, DIA, HHS, FBI, DHS, TSA,CBP, FAA, DEA, SSA, NASA, MSPB, USDA, BEP, FHFA, NRC, OPM, LOC, USPS, U.S. Secret Service, the U.S. Marshals Service, and Congress. For example, she was instrumental in obtaining high-value settlements for employees with disputes against employers in both the public and private sectors. Representative cases include holding the FBI accountable for the wrongful termination of an employee who was removed because of a disability.
She has published her work concerning recent developments in employment law including in the areas of #MeToo litigation against Congress and discrimination under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA), with the American Bar Association and New York Law Journal. She has written extensively for faculty members of the National Business Institute (NBI) on issues pertaining to civil litigation. Ms. Solomon earned her Juris Doctor, with a concentration in International Law from Albany Law School, and her Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from New York University. Prior to founding Solomon Law Firm, PLLC, Ms. Solomon was an attorney with Tully Rinckey, where she founded the Firm's Federal Employment practice in its New York and Washington, D.C. offices, where she supervised the Firm's employment litigation practice. Ms. Solomon continues to practice in the area of federal employment, but also counsels clients regularly on matters involving private sector employment litigation, International Law, Whistleblower Law, and Qui Tam litigation.
Ms. Solomon is an active member of the New York State and International Bar Association and has been recognized for her dedication to providing pro bono services as an Empire State Counsel Honoree. She has appeared in nationally syndicated publications, including Business Week and Forbes. Ms. Solomon also appears regularly in media outlets as an expert commentator on issues pertinent to federal employment law and to discuss her representation in cases engendering public interest. In her spare time, Ms. Solomon enjoys traveling and has lived abroad in Europe and the Middle East. Ms. Solomon, speaks Hebrew and is proficient in German and Japanese.
