Jade Ferguson

Intern

Alexis Jade Ferguson is an undergraduate senior in Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, majoring in Culture and Politics with a concentration in Racial and Gender Equity. She is currently writing her thesis on indigenous restorative justice as an alternative to the death penalty. Alexis was admitted to Columbia Law School as part of the Leadership Experience Admission Deferral Program and intends to acquire a Master’s in Criminology prior to matriculating at Columbia. There, she plans to study criminal defense, specifically working to defend those facing capital punishment.

Prior to joining Solomon Law Firm, PLLC, Alexis interned at the Institute for Women’s Policy Research studying the criminalization of girls and gender non-conforming youth of color. She also interned at DC Jobs with Justice and Collective Action for Safe Spaces DC. Today, she is a research assistant in the department of Sociology at her university and is a student in the Capitol Applied Learning Lab pre-law program at Georgetown.
