Solomon Law Firm, PLLC attorney Kathryn Saurack Barcroft was interviewed on Capital Tonight pertaining to the New York City and New York State sexual harassment guidelines for the workplace that will be enacted by October 9, 2018. Following the #MeToo movement, these provisions require annual sexual harassment training and a specific written sexual harassment policy, which clearly defines sexual harassment and examples of that behavior, how to file a complaint against a harasser, and anti-retaliation measures for victims and witnesses of harassment. The trainings must be interactive for employees, which Ms. Barcroft states that this helps employees “take ownership” of their training and their accountability.
