Federal Employment Attorney, Ariel Solomon, Selected for Prestigious "2014 Super Lawyers Rising Star" Award
Solomon Currently Represents One of the Highest Profile Veterans Administration Whistleblower Cases in the Nation
(Albany, NY - August, 2014) – Ariel Solomon, founding attorney of Solomon Law Firm, PLLC has been recognized by Super Lawyers® as part of their "2014 Super Lawyers Rising Star" award listing. Super Lawyers® Magazine facilitates an exhaustive peer review evaluation process that is used to identify the top-tier lawyers throughout the nation. Ariel Solomon has been included among the ranks of this year's Super Lawyers® in New York State; an honor reserved for the 2.5% of attorneys under the age of 40-years-old.
"It is an honor to be recognized and honored by Super Lawyers®. I am passionate about representing federal employees both at the national and international level. In fact, I established the firm for the purpose of protecting their rights," said Solomon.
This is Solomon's second year on the list. The magazine established this process and award system in 2013.
According to Super Lawyers®, Solomon is being recognized for her distinguished accomplishments representing federal employees. She has litigated major cases involving violations of USERRA and has appeared as a featured author for the American Bar Association. Her cases have been featured media outlets including: Associated Press, CBS, Forbes and Business Week. She focuses her practice on several areas including: whistleblower retaliation, adverse actions, security clearances, indefinite suspensions, discrimination, and removal action.
Currently, Solomon is working on one of the largest VA whistleblower cases. She represents Dr. Jose Mathews, a St. Louis psychiatrist who was demoted after filing complaints at the Veterans Administration hospital where he is employed. As part of this case, her client has testified at Congressional hearings.
Each year, the candidates for the " Super Lawyers®" list are peer-nominated, though promising candidates are also chosen by the Super Lawyers® research team, which is led by attorneys, according to the website. One aspect of the selection process involves the organization's research department assigning points to each candidate in 12 key areas. These are areas that are used to measure the attorney's level of peer recognition and professional achievement. A few of the areas include verdicts and settlements, special certifications and licenses, and experience, among other areas. Next is the peer review stage, in which the candidates are rated from one to ten by other attorneys in similar practice areas who make up a special review panel. In the end, the lawyers' points are tallied and those with the highest point totals are included in the Super Lawyers® list.
