Gerald L. Gilliard is Of Counsel with Solomon Law Firm, PLLC. Gerald has a decade of experience representing plaintiffs with regard to employment and housing discrimination, whistleblower retaliation, False Claims Act qui tam actions, revocations of security clearance, and failure to accommodate under the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Rehabilitation Act. Gerald provided nationwide representation of Federal employees facing workplace discrimination and unwarranted adverse actions as Staff Counsel for the American Federation of Government Employees, a 600,000-member strong Federal labor union. Gerald has since served as counsel to the employment law and government contracts departments of two prominent D.C. law firms, and most recently, as the founder of a plaintiff's law firm protecting and defending employees against discrimination and adverse actions.

Gerald’s successful legal representation includes the January 2014 reinstatement of a male African-American federal employee accused of assaulting a female management official, the March 2013 reinstatement of a federal police officer who was fired after agreeing to testify in the investigation of her co-worker's EEO case, the September 2012 grant of a Petition for Review from the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board, the reinstatement of two African-American male officers facing termination for wearing hair braids -- despite their compliance with their Agency’s uniform policy, successful maintenance of the security clearance of an Arab-American federal officer facing revocation of his security clearance due to his dual citizenship in the U.S. and in the nation of Jordan, obtaining back pay and the reinstatement of a Federal officer fired for allegedly falling asleep on post, arranging the invalidation of the removal of a white male federal employee removed for airing controversial political views about President Obama at work, and assisting in the dismissal of an agency executive guilty of falsifying payroll records, and harassing and suborning perjury of employees following an internal investigation into her alleged falsification of payroll records.

Gerald is a licensed attorney in Virginia and the District of Columbia, and is a member of the U.S. District Court of the District of Columbia, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, Gerald went on to matriculate at Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as an editor on the new Georgetown Journal of International Law. In law school, Gerald completed internships with the Hon. Henry H. Kennedy, Jr. (retired) of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, and the Office of U.S. Congressman James Clyburn and served as a Law Clerk for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). Gerald is a past board member of the D.C. Bar Labor and Employment Law Steering Committee and a current member of the National Employment Law Association.
