As the October 9, 2018 deadline is fast-approaching for New York State employers to provide their employees with a written sexual harassment policy, Solomon Law Firm, PLLC attorney Kathryn Barcroft returns to CBS 6 to discuss the specifics. In her interview, she explains that all employers, even those with one employee, must have a written sexual harassment policy in place. The policy must explain what sexual harassment is, the employer's investigation process for complaints, and the applicable state and federal laws. A model policy may be adopted from the New York State Division of Human Rights and the New York Department of Labor, or it may be created by the employer, so long as it is at least equal to the model policy.
